Are Formula One cars so light that they actually float? You might think so when you see Lance Stroll’s team members pushing his Mercedes Williams Martini Racing machine back to the garage after pre-race technical inspections.

I made this shot with my iPhone at the 2018 Formula One Championship Race held in Austin, Texas.

Parked for good, this Willy Jeep sits in front of a holiday getaway along the shores of Bombay Beach, Salton Sea. A Spanish vessel, captained by Spanish explorer Juan de Iturbe, allegedly sailed into the area in 1615 during a high tide, only to be stranded as the lake dried up. There was a bit of irony that while I was photographing this art installation at Bombay Beach, I could hear off in the distance the non-stop thunder of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps live-fire (bombing) exercises near the Salton Sea on the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range (#CMAGR). The art at the Bombay Beach Biennale is making me think... This is the "Communications Building" at College of the Desert. Jim Machaelian, who was part of the founding staff at the Long Beach Grand Prix, passed this week at age 83. “Barb” just landed in Palm Springs on Saturday in her flying car after a weekend of partying in Monaco. She stopped by to ask if I wanted to go down to a disco party on Bombay Beach along the shores of the Salton Sea. I couldn't say no (nobody can say no to "Barb"). The Bombay Beach party was wild, she was a lot of fun, and the dancing was epic. But, she kept calling me “Ken” Late night in the Porsche service bay, while everyone sleeps 🧹➡️🏁 the GT3 RS mysteriously fires up, as he dreams of chasing the perfect lap.
