Diggin' the retro-Apple branding tribute on this wicked GTI tastefully-lowered onto LAS-R wheels.  #RobJanoff created the multi-color #Apple logo for the launch of the new Apple II computer in April 1977, choosing #MotterTektura for the typeface. Apple used the rainbow-striped logo until 1998. Meanwhile, takin' a flashback ride on ol' 476. Built in 1923 for the Rio Grande, today she's a quarter-million pounds of pure coal-fired steam-powered locomotive fun on the Durango & Silverton run. Another incredible car on display at #DrGeorgeCarShow was this 1963 Lola GT Mk6 prototype, the first of three designed by #EricBroadley, who was then hired by #Ford in 1963 to design the #FordGT40. Ford bought this very #LolaGT to test components of the new #GT40. Joining the #LolaGT was legendary #American #RaceCar designer #PeterBrock, who was on hand autographing copies of his book, The Road to #Modena: Origins and history of the #Shelby - #DeTomaso #P70. The car has been owned since 1965 by Allen Grant, one of #CarrollShelby's first employees and a driver on the #ShelbyAmerican team that won the 1965 #WorldGTChampionship driving the #CobraDaytona Coupes
What a treat to see and photograph this spectacular 2019 #FordGT Heritage Edition #FordPerformance #supercar up-close at the #DrGeorgeCarShow in #IndianWells. The special livery of this car celebrates the final pair in a remarkable string of four consecutive #LeMans overall victories for #Ford. This #2019FordGT is painted in the same famous baby-blue-and-orange scheme of the #GulfOil-sponsored #FordGT40 (Chassis No. 1075) that won the 1968 and 1969 LeMans overall victory. In 1968, the Ford GT was driven to victory by Mexico's #PedroRodriguez and #Belgian #LucienBianchi. Belgian #JackyIckx and Britian's #JackieOliver repeated the win in 1969. Thanks to #PalmSpringsFord for sharing the dream.
