Captured in stunning air-to-air photography, this beautifully crafted Wittman W-10 Tailwind soars proudly over the picturesque Avalon Harbor at Santa Catalina Island. In show jumping, horse and rider move as one—measuring distance, rhythm, trust, and split-second timing as they clear each fence with power and precision. Screaming across the waters of Avalon, “Patriotic Duty” captures the spirit of offshore powerboat racing that has thrilled spectators around Santa Catalina Island for decades. The legendary Shelby Cobra was born from a bold idea by racing icon Carroll Shelby in the early 1960s: combine a lightweight British roadster chassis from AC Cars with the raw power of an American V8 engine. The result was a brutally fast machine that quickly became a motorsports legend, dominating road courses with its thunderous acceleration and unmistakable wide-body stance. The blue paint and white racing stripes seen in this photo captured at #COTA became one of the Cobra’s most iconic looks, symbolizing the car’s deep roots in American racing history and its enduring reputation as one of the most celebrated performance cars ever built.
