The Woman Who Loves Giraffes

Go see the film “The Woman Who Loves Giraffes” written and directed by Toronto filmmaker Alison Reid. It traces the history of Anne Innis Dagg, who went to Africa in 1956 to study giraffes.

One of my favorite places to photograph giraffes in the States is The Living Desert near Palm Springs. Here are a few favs from the past year.

Celebrate earth’s #tallest mammal on the #shortest day of the year – it’s World Giraffe Day! 🦒

Giraffe populations has declined nearly 80% since the 1990s. It’s estimated that fewer than 100,000 individuals remain, making #giraffe one of the world’s most endangered large mammals.

#StandTallForGiraffe and help keep them from disappearing together! Oh yeah, giraffes love Christmas trees🎄
