Gone but not forgotten.

The abandoned Desert Theatre on Fargo Street in Indio, California was deemed a ‘total loss’ by CalFire Saturday after a fire broke out inside the building. She was one month shy of her 83rd birthday.

Opened on December 15th 1937, The Desert Theatre was the hot spot on a Friday and Saturday night for the locals in this desert town in the Coachella Valley. She was owned by Judge Leroy A. Pawley, who was the first Mayor of Indio from 1930 – 1932.
