North America’s Swift Fox

August 8, 2020August 8, 2020 editor

Once found across the vast prairies of the Canadian and American Great Plains, Swift foxes have experienced significant population declines.

Weighing just 5 to 7 lbs, fewer than a thousand Swift foxes are estimated to be in the wilds of Canada today, but up significantly since conservation efforts began in the 1980s.

This Swift Fox lives at The Living Desert near Palm Springs.

In 1968, artist Tom Van Sant created a series of 39 panels for the Irvine Company he called “Indigenous Inhabitants” that captured Orange County, California’s regional wildlife (some which are extinct now). Look who's joining us at the dinner table on Thanksgiving! The Fullerton Drone Lab brought out the dogs for the 2025 Huntington Beach Pacific Air Show. In the air and on the tarmac at SNA Flash back to the 1960s fashion on the slopes of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany with Jay's 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2. https://www.instagram.com/p/DPNbf8PCUoY/ I'll be at the Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach this weekend at the Fullerton Drone Lab exhibit. My gig is Saturday morning, but the Drone Lab team will be out there all weekend (Friday - Sunday) talking UAS and showing off the hardware and putting on some fun for kids of all ages. Stop by and say hi...
