The iconic neon Rancho Super Car Wash monument sign along Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage, California. A little drink photography to get your Coachella weekend started. A little food photography to get you started. Coachella Music Festival is ready to kick off later today. Meanwhile, over at The Kimpton Rowan in Palm Springs, things are quiet. Happy Easter! Sitting -267 feet (-81 meters) below sea level, this land yacht is ready to carry you to your fate. Bombay Beach, Salton Sea, California. Parked for good, this Willy Jeep sits in front of a holiday getaway along the shores of Bombay Beach, Salton Sea. A Spanish vessel, captained by Spanish explorer Juan de Iturbe, allegedly sailed into the area in 1615 during a high tide, only to be stranded as the lake dried up. There was a bit of irony that while I was photographing this art installation at Bombay Beach, I could hear off in the distance the non-stop thunder of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps live-fire (bombing) exercises near the Salton Sea on the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range (#CMAGR).
