Fat Man. August 09, 1945.
The National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas is birthplace of Admiral Nimitz. This display shows a life-size recreation of “Fat Man” – the code name of the nuclear bomb dropped over Nagasaki, Japan on August 09, 1945. It was the last nuclear attack in history.

These cattle on the LBJ Ranch in Fredricksburg, Texas apparently attended the graduate school of grazing, given their synchronized approach to eating their lunch.
Maya Hotel Box-on-the-Wall.
My friend Steve took this photo from his cell phone at the Maya Hotel in Long Beach a few years ago. This untouched photo was made from my reflection in a wooden box with a mirror in the back that was attached to a wall covered with artificial turf.

Knott’s Berry Farm Windseeker
I don’t go on rides like the Windseeker at Knott’s Berry Farm. So, while waiting for my more adventuresome family members who do, I took this snap with my iPhone 3Gs.

Too tempting not to try a “then and now” snap. In the background is my 1995 Kawasaki 650 KLX and my 1967 (+/-) Schwinn Sting Ray – with the two speed kickback hub… Toys!
Pismo Beach on a Husqvarna 360 Sportsman. c. 1972
My friend Jeff snapped this photo of me cresting a sand dune at Oceano Dunes on my 1971 Husqvarna 360 Sportsman in the summer of ’72 shortly after we graduated from high school.
The 5 1/2 miles of beach and the sand dunes of Oceano Dunes is the only California State Park where it’s legal for vehicles to be driven on the beach. Of course, I got a ticket for popping wheelies on the beach in excess of the speed limit… Wheelies were something that Husky did with ease!
Bound for Saddleback Park c. 1971
This snap was taken by my mother on the morning of July 4, 1971 on the front lawn of our home. Next stop was Saddleback Park, an off-road motorcycle playground in the foothills of Orange County, California above the tiny town of Tustin.

Ahhh… youth is wasted on the young. My friend Richard took this snap around 1970 +/-. I miss that hair!
